For blue water, the variable of interest is water flow. The boundary is exceeded if the water flow is "disturbed" (too far from the pre-industrial reference) for too large a percentage of land surfaces. For green water, the variable of interest is soil moisture in the root zone. 2Causas
Trees have an important role in regulating humidity and storing water in soils.
Significant consumption or withdrawal of fresh water modifies the natural cycle, by delaying returns to the natural environment (storage), by moving volumes of water (pumping to one place and return to another), by modifying the constitution (temperature , pollution).
